The transfer rumors are coming hot and heavy now for Los Angeles Football Club, as the latest report out of Argentina is linking the MLS expansion club to winger Federico Carrizo.

The Futbol Times reported on Friday that LAFC are “rumored” to be the MLS team pursuing the 26-year-old, who has spent nearly all of his career to date in his native Argentina. Starting out for Rosario Central, he made a move to Boca Juniors in 2014, and had a short loan stint in Mexico with Cruz Azul in 2015. Earlier this year, he moved back to Rosario Central, but has recently been linked to a move north to MLS.

Specifically, FC Dallas has emerged as the team interested in Carrizo previously, with only this single report from The Futbol Times throwing LAFC into the mix as far as I could find.

So I would regard this link to LAFC so far as pretty speculative. MLS’ structure means the league can make an offer for a player before the specific team is known, but the report also seems possibly an attempt by an agent to drum up some kind of bidding action on his player by throwing a new team into the mix.

This tweet from Seattle-based reporter Niko Moreno does indicate that several teams appear to be interested in Carrizo (MLS or elsewhere is unclear) and that talks are just getting underway with FC Dallas, so as ever, anything can happen:

We’ll keep you posted if we hear more about Carrizo and LAFC.
