Orange County SC complete perfect preseason with 4-0 win over LA Galaxy II

Rivalry tune-up sets the stage for next week’s curtain-raiser.

Orange County SC kept their 2017 preseason preparation pretty simple. Stay at home, play a few local teams, a couple visiting Southern California, two college sides, three fellow USL teams.

The result is a perfect 5-0 mark in those games, as Orange County defeated LA Galaxy II 4-0 on Saturday at StubHub Center in the final tune-up ahead of the USL regular season opener in a week’s time.

The first goal of the game came on a penalty just before halftime, hard to tell but looks like Roy Meeus took it.

Obviously, the caveat to all this is that it is still preseason, and things will get serious when the games start to count next week. Orange County SC is still finalizing their roster for the upcoming season, but given the warm-up action, there does appear to be some chemistry building, and that’s not a bad thing.

Obviously, the real test will come next Saturday, and away from home as they take on Reno 1868 FC in the season opener, but ending the preseason with a perfect record could very well be a good omen for the season to come. We’ll see.
