Duke Lacroix got off to basically a perfect start on Saturday with Orange County SC. Not only did he score, not only did he score the winning goal, not only did he score two goals in his debut with the club, but his second goal was absolutely a thing of beauty.
Take nothing away from the other players for Orange County in their 2-0 win over Reno 1868 FC on Saturday. Pretty much every player on the field for the Southern California club impressed on the night, and it was a team effort to play so well on the road against an expansion team jacked to get a result in their debut match.
But this truly was an audacious individual effort, and it deserves another look.

Who knows if he can keep the skills + production coming, but that is a sweet, sweet goal from Lacroix. And he won the NASL Goal of the Year last season with Indy Eleven. Saturday’s goal just may end up in the running for the USL honor this season, who knows.
