Netherlands fire manager Danny Blind
The Netherlands men’s soccer team has been awful for the last couple of years, failing to qualify for the 2016 Euros, and now in serious doubt of qualifying for the World Cup in 2018. They fired manager Danny Blind over the weekend, after losing 2-0 to Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying. They sit 4th in their group, behind France, Sweden and Bulgaria. With more games against Sweden and Bulgaria its possible that the Netherlands could climb into 2nd and force their way into a playoff, but they need to get on track quickly. Its mystifying why one of the former world powers in soccer is struggling so much.
