USL announced on Tuesday the first USL Team of the Week of the 2017 regular season, and two Orange County SC players made the cut: midfielder Carlos Alvarez and forward Duke Lacroix.

The pair was the most productive on the field in Orange County’s season opener on Saturday, a 2-0 win over Reno 1868 FC in Nevada. Alvarez tallied two assists, the first a terrific pass in the box, while Lacroix had both goals on the night, the second a remarkable individual effort.

It actually continues a streak of sorts for OCSC, as former striker Trevin Caesar made the USL Team of the Week and was in fact named Player of the Week in the regular season’s final week last year.

And Orange County are one of two teams to get two players on the TOTW this time around, along with Richmond Kickers. Considering there are 30 teams in the league, getting two players recognized is not something to scoff at.

Congrats to Carlos and Duke, and here’s hoping these are the first of many accolades for the duo and team this season.
