Orange County SC announced on Tuesday the signing of veteran defender Beto Navarro. The 27-year-old returns to the club, after having been a regular starter with the 2015 squad that finished atop the Western Conference.
Navarro returns after playing the 2016 season for NASL side Jacksonville Armada, where he found it tough to find regular playing time while the team struggled in the standings throughout the year. Prior to playing for Orange County, he also played in NASL for FC Edmonton and the Atlanta Silverbacks. The California native was part of the vaunted Cal FC side that made a run in the 2012 U.S. Open Cup.
Navarro has featured for Orange County SC in the preseason, and seems quite likely to fight for a starting spot this season.
Grateful for the opportunity @orangecountysc It's an exciting time to be in the OC again. Looking forward to a great season!
