The first edition of the 405 Derby is on Saturday, as LA Galaxy II host Orange County SC at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. The local rivals will aim to take the upper hand in the season series.

LA have struggled the past few weeks, posting three straight losses after opening the season with a win. If they lose tonight, it will be a team-record losing run, and obviously Mike Munoz’s side would like to avoid that.

Orange County, meanwhile, are coming off a win, but that was two weeks ago. I may overestimate the effects of a bye week more than most, but I’ve seen situations in which teams that had a bye, like OCSC last week, and struggled to get back into a playing rhythm after a week off from game action. Perhaps that will be no concern to Logan Pause’s side, and a week off may actually help the team prepare more ahead of one of their biggest games of the season. We shall see.

Tale of the Tape:

Orange County SC: 6 points (2-1-0), 8th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -1 (4/5); Last three games: W-L-W

LA Galaxy II: 3 points (1-3-0), 12th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -3 (4/7); Last four games: L-L-L-W
