Premier League title race back on?

Chelsea FC lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace on Saturday, a surprising loss given their league form, especially at home. That loss combined with Tottenham’s win leaves the gap between the two teams just seven points at the top of the table. ESPN’s Mark Ogden thinks this could re-ignite the title race.

NY Cosmos owner doesn’t think American soccer is “real soccer”

Arguably the most recognizable American soccer team might be the New York Cosmos. The current iteration of the Cosmos remains in the NASL, and were recently bought by Rocco Commisso. He gave a recent interview in which he makes the controversial claim that American soccer isn’t real soccer, and he’s never been to an MLS or NASL game before.

Marc Bartra trying to find Dortmund fan who watched match in the middle of Schalke section

Soccer rivalry matches can be extremely passionate, and the Revierderby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke is no exception. One brave Dortmund fan was photographed alone in the middle of a huge group of Schalke fans, and Dortmund defender Marc Bartra took notice. He is now trying to find the woman and give her his signed jersey, in tribute to her bravery and support for Dortmund.

Watch this sweet sequence in PSG’s win over Monaco

PSG defeated Monaco 4-1 in the French League Cup final on Saturday, featuring two spectacular goals from Edinson Cavani. In particular the first Cavani goal is magic, with a sweet pass from Marco Verratti, and then a thunderous volley from Cavani. Cavani is at the peak of his powers this year, and it really showed in this game.

Footy McFooty Face wins mascot contest vote (no seriously)

The San Diego group looking to gain an MLS team held a vote to name the potential team, and it seems like they got more than they bargained for. The overwhelming vote winner was Footy McFooty face, which is, well its a scary foot (and it smashes LAFC’s logo in a video!). I’m sure this is not what the SD ownership group had in mind, but i guess its true what they say, be careful what you wish for.
