How to watch Tulsa Roughnecks vs. Orange County SC

Orange County SC put their three-game unbeaten run to the test on Saturday night in Oklahoma, as they take on the new-look Tulsa Roughnecks for the first time in 2017.

OCSC, of course, are coming off a landmark win for their young season, 4-0 over LA Galaxy II last weekend to open their new home at Orange County Great Park. Aside from a blowout loss on the road to Sacramento Republic, their season has been very good so far, and if they can pick up another result on the road, on one of their longest road trips of the regular season, they’ll continue to move up the Western Conference standings with games in hand over the competition.

But the Roughnecks are unlikely to be pushovers. They’ve got a new coach and largely revamped their roster from last year, with Argentine attacking midfielder Juan Caffa and striker Ian Svantesson leading the charge in the attack under David Vaudreuil. Their form isn’t as good as OCSC’s so far, as they’ve alternated wins and losses, often in pretty dramatic swings one way or the other, so if Orange County catch them on a bad night, it’s good news for the visitors. If Tulsa is in the mood, however, watch out.

Add to that the historic record, with Tulsa holding a 2-1 edge over Orange County all-time, and this is not going to be an easy game. I definitely think Orange County will be in the playoffs this season and could even move to the top few spots as the season goes on, but this is the kind of game that will be a good litmus test for OC.

That said, Tulsa are coming off a game on Thursday, so there’s likely to be squad rotation against OC. Will that play a role in the outcome? Stay tuned.
