How to watch OKC Energy FC vs. Orange County SC

Will this trip to Oklahoma be more productive for OC?

Orange County SC are back in USL regular season action on Saturday evening, as they head out on the road once again to Oklahoma, this time to take on OKC Energy FC.

It’s been a strange week, truth be told, from a scheduling perspective. Orange County went to Tulsa last weekend and lost 4-0 to the Roughnecks. But any thought of just camping out in the Sooner State for a week was dashed because they had a U.S. Open Cup game on Wednesday in Glendora, which they won 5-2.

All things being equal, I imagine they’re just fine with their first fixture congestion of the season after the Open Cup win, as it can help them wash the taste of the loss last weekend out of their mouths. Now, it’s back to middle America for another shot at a result.

And while OKC also won big in the Open Cup midweek, they have been reeling in league play so far this season. On the same number of games as Orange County, Energy FC have just one win, and overall just seem to be struggling to click this season. An added bonus, maybe, is that their new striker, Andy Craven, is still serving a suspension he picked up with his old team.

So even though the prospects look pretty good in this game for OCSC, they are once again going on a long road trip for this one and their track record against Energy FC is poor, having two wins out of seven meetings all-time. But this is a new season and very much a new group in 2017 — maybe they can get back to picking up road points in league play, starting in Oklahoma City.

Tale of the Tape:

Orange County SC: 10 points (3-2-1), 9th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -1; Last five games: L-W-D-W-L

OKC Energy: 4 points (1-4-1), 14th place in Western Conference; Goal Difference: -6; Last five games: L-L-W-L-D
