Manchester clubs release statements after terror attack

The City of Manchester has come together united after a terror attack at Manchester Arena left 22 dead and 59 injured on Monday. Both Manchester City and Manchester United have released statements, and Manchester United held a moment of silence before training. United also cancelled the press conference scheduled for Tuesday ahead of their Europa League final on Wednesday, and Ed Woodward cancelled an event scheduled for Wednesday. In addition, sporting events and arenas will be under security reviews in the wake of this attack, with heightened security at matches this weekend.

Real Madrid seal deal for young Brazilian star Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid have secured a deal for Flamengo youngster Vinicius Junior for a reported €45 million. The Brazilian star is just 16, so the transfer will be effective in July 2018 when he turns 18, with the chance to move to Madrid then or in 2019. He was the top scorer and player of the tournament in the 2017 South American U-17 Championship in March, and was also linked to Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona.

Police raid PSG and Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore's homes in tax case

Police who are investigating possible tax fraud have raided the Paris Saint-Germain Headquarters, as well as Javier Pastore’s and Angel Di Maria’s homes. According to the Associated Press, “The national financial prosecutor's office opened an investigation in December after so-called ‘Football Leaks’ reports allegedly detailed tax arrangements by top players, coaches and clubs.“

Antoine Griezmann confirms there’s a pretty good chance he’ll join Manchester United

Antoine Griezmann has confirmed that he is “ready to go“ in order to win trophies, citing a desire to win on behalf of the players more so than the goals of Atletico Madrid to finish third. He said there is a “six out of ten“ chance of moving to Manchester United, a deal that has been swirling on the rumor mill for over a year. He also said he will know his future in around two weeks, which means there could be major news for the Red Devils very soon.

OFFICIAL: Juventus complete permanent Cuadrado deal

Italian champions Juventus have completed the signing of winger Juan Cuadrado to a three-year deal for €20 million. The Colombian has spent the past two seasons in Turin on loan from Chelsea, helping the club to Serie A and Coppa Italia titles in both years, and has played a part in getting them to the Champions League final this year.
