Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez is headed to German champions Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent. Sport Bild reports that there will be a €5 million loan fee each year and the final fee to keep James would be €35.2 million. Since he joined Real Madrid after the 2014 World Cup, James has had ups and downs, the low point being when he was left out of Zinedane Zidane’s roster for the Champions League final. The 25-year-old now will reunite with Carlo Ancelotti, and will essentially replace Douglas Costa in the Bayern lineup.
Despite reports that Alexis Sanchez wants out of Arsenal and wants to join Manchester City, Arsene Wenger has now come out and said he “expects“ players to respect their contracts and see them out, which is definitely not an encouraging comment for a Sanchez sale. He also denied that Sanchez wants to leave Arsenal.
Speaking of Manchester City: A week ago it seemed all but certain that Pep Guardiola and Dani Alves were going to reunite, as Alves was headed out of Juventus and City need Full-backs. Now, reports say Alves will actually be signing with Paris Saint-Germain in the next 24 hours. Goal says Alves will have a medical today, and will be announced shortly after. Meanwhile, City reportedly have their eyes on Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, but there will be no former Barcelona men reuniting.
ESPN FC reports that Jose Mourinho had the chance to sign now-Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette, but decided not to in favor of signing Romelu Lukaku. Sources expressed doubts about “his suitability to the Premier League, his physical impact and his record in big games.” Mourinho was also looking at Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, but ended negotiations as soon as an agreement was made for Lukaku.
Inter Milan 'ready to hijack Manchester United's move for Nemanja Matic' as Chelsea left unhappy over Lukaku deal
Inter Milan are looking to sign Nemanja Matic instead of Manchester United, as Chelsea are unhappy that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United swooped ahead of them for Romelu Lukaku. Now, Chelsea reportedly are reluctant to do business with United, and with Chelsea close to signing Tiemoue Bakayoko, Matic is on the way out. Inter need a midfielder to take Joao Mario’s place, as he is close to a move to PSG, and primary target Radja Nainggolan has been marked unsellable by Roma’s management.
