Los Angeles Football Club still have several months before they kick a ball for the first time, but Sunday was a landmark day for one player currently under contract to the club.
Monday Etim, the second player ever signed to LAFC, has been playing on loan with Orange County SC, LAFC’s USL affiliate, and on Sunday against Seattle Sounders 2 scored his first professional goal, a first-half tally to give Orange County a 2-1 lead.

Ok, so it was a tap-in, but it still counts all the same. And it’s a good sign for the 18-year-old, now off the mark in his eighth league game in his professional career. With his current team needing all hands on deck due to suspensions and injuries, this could be the start of something impressive for Etim, too, and a good showing to LAFC ahead of their debut season.
