Orange County SC returned to the win column over the weekend, and with the much-needed result for their playoff hopes, came recognition for two of their players.
Forward Irvin Parra was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday, while goalkeeper Charlie Lyon was placed on the Team of the Week bench for Week 25.
Parra scored his first goal since joining Orange County from Seattle Sounders 2 on a free transfer last week, the winning strike in a 2-1 victory over Swope Park Rangers on Saturday.
Lyon allowed one goal between two games last week, as OC picked up not only the win over Swope Park (which included a late penalty save by the ‘keeper) but also a scoreless draw against Phoenix Rising FC.
The duo are the first Orange County players to get Team of the Week recognition by the league since Sola Abolaji in mid-August.
