Los Angeles Football Club and Borussia Dortmund announced on Thursday they will play each other at Banc of California Stadium in a friendly, almost certainly to come during the Bundesliga club’s trip to the United States this summer, although the exact date is to be determined.
According to LAFC, this will be the first friendly played at Banc of California Stadium, the MLS expansion club’s new home that will be completed by late-April. According to Dortmund’s release on the news, the friendly appears likely to happen in July, when they will also play friendly matches in the United States as part of the International Champions Cup promotional tournament, which in the past has included MLS sides.

While an event connected to the announcement in Los Angeles was postponed Thursday morning, beyond the friendly itself there appears to be other moves in the works between LAFC and Dortmund, although we will need to wait for the details:
.@LAFC's press event with @BVB has been cancelled for today, but they'll eventually formally announce a friendly in LA, as well as a fan/supporter partnership.

BVB will be touring the US for the 1st time this summer as part of the @IntChampionsCup, and will play 2-3 games.
Also of note, with the United States failing to qualify for the World Cup this summer, it is expected that Dortmund’s tour will essentially revolve around American star Christian Pulisic, so assuming he’s not hurt or transferred before the trip, he’ll be at the Banc playing your LAFC.
If you are wondering if SB Nation has a Dortmund blog, we do: It’s called Fear The Wall, if you want to brush up on all things BVB in the meantime.
