Orange County Soccer Club head coach Braeden Cloutier said he was “pleasantly surprised” with the team’s open tryouts last week leading into this week’s Invite Only week.
The team reported 111 potential players attended the open tryouts with “five or six” from there moving on to this week’s tryouts.

“I think it’s been a success,” Cloutier said, via a video posted on the team’s Twitter feed. “I think it’s definitely been a lot better than year’s past … the caliber of players have done very, very well.”
OCSC staff looked over several potential new players this week during tryouts. Team captain Richard Chaplow was also on the pitch during tryouts.

Orange County has found some success in its open tryouts in the past. Nikola Ilich played for the team during the 2015-16 seasons and Dusan Stevanovic has been a member of OCSC for the last two seasons – both were signings from the team’s open tryouts.
