Los Angeles Football Club is gearing up for a game on Friday, but their senior international out on national team duty, goalkeeper Luis Lopez, participated in Honduras’ 1-1 draw against United Arab Emirates on Thursday in Barcelona, Spain.

Honduras took the lead in the first half through Romell Quioto, before UAE tied up the game later in the opening 45 minutes from Omar Abdulrahman, who is his country’s superstar.

Lopez started in goal for Honduras and played the full 90. The friendly, played on neutral ground, was apparently held behind closed doors and it’s unclear if there was a proper broadcast.

Another LAFC player, midfielder Andre Horta, joined Portugal’s U-21 squad for a Euro U-21 qualifier against Liechtenstein in Vaduz on Thursday. Portugal cruised with a lopsided 9-0 win, but Horta didn’t get off the bench to get involved in the action.

Neither player will be available for LAFC on Friday when they take on the Houston Dynamo at The Banc, but Lopez only had this game so he should be returning right away, while Horta is presumably gone for a bit longer as Portugal’s U-21s play Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday.
