MLS released their top 25 player jersey sellers for the 2018 season, and Los Angeles Football Club has two players on the list, headed by Carlos Vela’s No. 2 showing, behind only Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Vela ranks just ahead of Josef Martinez, Wayne Rooney and Miguel Almiron, respectively.
A look at the top five.

The second-highest ranking LAFC player in terms of jersey sales this year is Diego Rossi, who ranks No. 12. In all, 14 teams were represented on the list, and Atlanta United leads the way with five players in the Top 25.
It does seem like expansion teams get a boost every season, since fans have to go out and buy jerseys and over time some of them will just keep winning their old jerseys — those things aren’t cheap, after all.
But Vela has shown his worth on and off the field this year for LAFC, and through one season, it’s safe to say the club’s first Designated Player signing has been a smashing success (their second DP, Rossi, has been about as significant, maybe more so, too!).
