Los Angeles Football Club played their first-ever game as a senior professional team on Friday, hosting MLS Cup champions Toronto FC on Friday at UCLA in a preseason friendly match, and drawing 2-2.

LAFC head coach Bob Bradley said after the game all of his available players featured for 45 minutes in the match, as forward Marco Urena scored both of LAFC’s goals. Tsubasa Endoh opened the scoring in the first half for TFC, before Ureña tied it up after the break, then Sebastian Giovinco scored, before Ureña tied it up once more.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day to emerge thus far is that Maurice Edu, a free agent, was spotted wearing LAFC gear:

While that picture does not fully show if he’s in fact in LAFC-branded gear, the colors match up. Presumably, this means Edu is on trial with LAFC, and if he’s healthy (he has barely played the past two years due to a series of injuries) and the price is right, he would seem to be a savvy addition.

Lineups for LAFC (information provided by LAFC):

First half: Quillan Roberts (GK); Jordan Harvey, Dejan Jakovic, Jordan Jones, Tristan Blackmon; Maurice Edu, Calum Mallace, Brian de la Fuente; Shaft Brewer, Rodrigo Pacheco, Aaron Kovar

Second half: Tyler Miller (GK); Joao Moutinho, Laurent Ciman, Walker Zimmerman, Steven Beitashour; Niko Czornomaz, Benny Feilhaber, Pol Calvet Planellas; Diego Rossi, Latif Blessing, Marco Urena

LAFC’s next announced preseason game is next Thursday against New York City FC.
