LAFC’s Memorial Day game vs. D.C. United rescheduled for next day

Match will be aired on ESPN2.

Los Angeles Football Club and D.C. United announced on Wednesday that the 2018 MLS regular season game scheduled between them at Banc of California Stadium, on May 28, has been moved to May 29.

The original game was an odd, if understandable, matchday, as the 28th is Memorial Day, and perhaps MLS and broadcast partner ESPN were looking to see if it could become a holiday fixture tradition like July 4 has in many markets. But for whatever reason, it’s been moved to a Tuesday, also an odd day for regular season games (most recent MLS seasons haven’t even had a regular season game on a Tuesday).

The rescheduled game will be aired on ESPN2, and kickoff time will be 8 pm PT. The release for the game says tickets bought for May 28 will be honored for the May 29 game, which is also interesting in that LAFC haven’t even publicly released single-game tickets yet. So if you have a season ticket or SG ticket, yeah, you’ll still get in the rescheduled game.
