Orange County SC announced on Tuesday they have re-signed goalkeeper Casey Beyers ahead of the 2018 USL regular season.
Beyers, 23, began his professional career last season with Orange County, serving as the backup to Charlie Lyon. A University of Wisconsin product, Beyers made two appearances for Orange County in 2017, both wins, in the U.S. Open Cup against PDL side Golden State Force and in the USL season finale against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.
“Casey is a hard-working, talented player and we are thrilled to have him return in 2018,” said Orange County SC general manager and executive vice president Oliver Wyss in a team statement. “We are looking forward to watching Casey further develop and grow with us this season.”
The signing brings Orange County’s announced roster up to five, joining the midfield quartet of Richard Chaplow, Zach Kobayashi, Aodhan Quinn and Christian Duke. OC opened their training camp on Tuesday, and will surely have plenty of signings in the days and weeks ahead with the season opener roughly six weeks away.
