Orange County SC announced on Tuesday the signing of forward Giovanni Ramos-Godoy. The 22-year-old joins after a preseason trial with the club.

Ramos-Godoy begins his professional career with OC after completing his collegiate career at nearby UC Irvine. Playing there for two years, he was named 2017 Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year following a 13-goal season. Prior to that, he played two years at CSU Bakersfield.

Before his trial with OCSC, Ramos-Godoy was invited to the 2018 MLS Combine, but went undrafted.

“Giovanni is a player that I got familiar with this past college season locally at UC Irvine. He was rewarded with his solid season with an invite to the MLS combine,” said Orange County SC head coach Braeden Cloutier in a team statement. “Godoy came into our preseason from day one with a fantastic attitude and work ethic. He is an extremely intelligent player that I have been very impressed with this preseason.”
