How to Watch Orange County SC vs. Sacramento Republic FC

Orange County SC return to the field Saturday night, as they host their second USL regular season game in as many weeks, this time welcoming Sacramento Republic FC to town.

OC enter the game after a fightback effort in their season opener against Phoenix Rising FC, with unlikely scorer Alex Crognale coming off the bench to tie up the game late in a 1-1 draw. That performance was a bit topsy-turvy, as Orange County largely dominated the first half despite conceding, but a number of close calls and wasteful finishing threatened to prevent them from picking up any points on the night.

The hope, of course, is with 90 minutes under their belts, Orange County will be stronger in their second match. But Sacramento are likely to be another difficult opponent. Now coached by former Chivas USA midfielder Simon Elliott, Republic won their opening match, 2-1 at home against San Antonio FC. OC have had some good moments against Republic over the years, but last season’s blowout loss to Sacramento early in the campaign was ultimately foreshadowing for an inconsistent season.

It is a new season, however, and there are new head coaches and many new players on both sides. So we’ll see how this game goes, and if Orange County can grab their first win of the season.
