The fans have spoken and Los Angeles Football Club striker Diego Rossi’s goal against Seattle Sounders FC picked up the MLS Goal of the Week award.

Rossi’s goal was the first regular season goal in club history and was enough to push LAFC to a 1-0 inaugural win at Seattle Sunday.

According to MLSsoccer.com, Rossi picked up 43 percent of the votes cast, easily outdistancing Kei Kamara’s goal for Vancouver Whitecaps against Montreal Impact (20 percent) and Danny Hoesen’s goal for San Jose Earthquakes against Minnesota United FC.

In case you missed it …

On top of all of this, Rossi turned 20 on Monday, so it’s been a pretty, pretty good week for the Uruguayan. Happy Birthday!

LAFC now sets its sights on a 12:30 pm PT showdown with Real Salt Lake on Saturday, at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
