Los Angeles Football Club and D.C. United each announced on Thursday that their MLS regular season game has been rescheduled, to May 26, a Saturday. The game, originally scheduled for Memorial Day itself, was then shifted to the following day, May 29, which would have been a rare Tuesday game in MLS, back in February, before Thursday’s announcement confirmed the day had been moved once more.
Kickoff for the May 26 match is 7 pm PT at Banc of California Stadium, and the game will no longer be on national TV, instead being available on YouTube TV’s LAFC channel and UniMás 46 in the Los Angeles blackout region, and on ESPN+ outside of the region.
The game will come during a packed slate for LAFC, as they will take on the Portland Timbers on May 19 up in Portland, then host German club Borussia Dortmund at Banc of California Stadium in a friendly on May 22, before the game against D.C. at the weekend. I would say there will be some lineup rotation at that point, but truthfully, LAFC’s roster doesn’t have a lot of extra bodies in some positions, so who knows? Anyway, now we know for sure the D.C. game has been switched, probably for god this time.
