Juventus down AC Milan and increase their lead in Serie A as Napoli drop points

Juventus took a four-point lead in Serie A after defeating AC Milan at home 3-1. Ex-Juve standout Leonardo Bonucci scored to equalize against his old club, but late goals by Sami Khedira and Juan Cuadrado sealed the win for the Bianconeri. This was a big win for Juve to increase their Serie A lead, and also a nice result heading into their Champions League matchup against Real Madrid on Tuesday. For AC Milan, they have not beaten Juventus in Turin since 2011, and Milan sit eight points behind their rivals Inter Milan for fourth place in Serie A.

Tottenham down Chelsea 3-1 to boos their top four ambitions

Now to a team that just broke a long losing streak, Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge for their first win at Chelsea in 28 years. Chelsea actually struck first, a goal by Alvaro Morata near the end of the first half. But right before the break Christian Eriksen equalized for Spurs, and a Dele Alli double in the second half sank the Blues. Chelsea had been doing reasonably better as of late, but they were undone by shoddy defending and goalkeeping against Tottenham, and all without Harry Kane being on the scoresheet for Spurs. As for Tottenham, this is a victory in a big game Spurs desperately needed, and should fill them with confidence ahead of their FA Cup semifinal against Manchester United, the last trophy Spurs have a shot of winning this year.

Barcelona score two late goals to snatch a point against Sevilla

Los Angeles Football Club weren’t the only team that blew a lead this weekend. Sevilla were up 2-0 on Barcelona in the 87th minute, but quick strike goals by Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi grabbed a point for Barcelona right at the death. Sevilla had dominated the game up until that point, but if you don’t finish the chances you get, it can come back to bite you. And even if nothing else is going right in a game, it’s nice to have Suarez and Messi in your team to make something out of nothing.

Vancouver Whitecaps player and TSN Radio Host combine to play an April Fools Joke on goalkeeper ‘Steven Marinovic’

Sunday was April Fools Day, and in the spirit of that, Jake Nerwinski of the Vancouver Whitecaps, and TSN Host Corey Basso combined to play a prank on Whitecaps goalie Stefan Marinovic. Check out that entertaining video.

One final note, Happy Easter and Happy Passover to all who celebrate. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
