LAFC’s Carlos Vela named to second MLS Team of the Week

It was a good performance.

We’re still processing the first edition of El Trafico, but even with Los Angeles Football Club’s 4-3 loss against the LA Galaxy, forward Carlos Vela was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 5.

Vela, if you were in a coma over the weekend, scored a brace to put LAFC ahead 2-0 in Saturday’s game at StubHub Center, both goals of the “very impressive” variety. He really helped LAFC boss the Galaxy for the first hour of the game, and then...things got weird for LAFC.

Anyway, this Team of the Week selection goes alongside Vela’s Goal of the Week nomination for this week. And it’s Vela’s second Team of the Week selection this season, as he also took the honor in Week 2.

All in all, LAFC have been on the Team of the Week for each of the weeks in which they have had a game in their very young history. Not too shabby. Congrats to Carlos, and hopefully there are many more selections coming in the future.
