Manchester United and Chelsea booked their places in the FA Cup final this weekend. United came back to beat Tottenham 2-1, and Chelsea did enough to see out a 2-0 win over Southampton. This is a last chance for both clubs to win silverware, and for Chelsea a chance to avenge their loss in the FA Cup final last year. This will also feature another one of Jose Mourinho’s one time feuds, this one with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. In the past Conte called Mourinho, “a little man, and a fake” in response to Mourinho referencing a match-fixing scandal Conte had been investigated for and eventually cleared of in Italy. But Conte says things are all good now. “There is not a problem with him and I. I think this final is a game between two great teams: Manchester United and Chelsea.” Whatever the temperature of this particular feud, these are two teams that are not particularly fond of each other, and should be a hard-fought cup final.
What seemed fairly certain a few weeks ago is now anything but. Napoli shocked Juventus 1-0 on Sunday, the winner coming in the 90th minute of a corner kick headed in by Kalidou Koulibaly. The side from Naples has had a dramatic last few weeks reignite its title bid, and they now sit just one point behind Juventus with four games left. Juventus have to play Inter next week, and still have to play Roma in their last few games. Though Juventus hold a slim lead still, it really seems like Napoli might be on the verge of something special here.
Mohamed Salah has had a tremendous season with Liverpool this year, and that has lead to his first award of the season. He was announced as the winner of the PFA Player of the Year award on Sunday night. Salah has been amazing this season, scoring 31 league goals, and helping lead Liverpool to an almost assured top four position, and at least the semifinals in the Champions League. Despite strong competition from Kevin De Bruyne, and Harry Kane, Salah was well deserving of this award, and he looks to lead Liverpool to team glory in the Champions League to round out the season.
