LAFC’s Ciman up for MLS Goal of the Week; Vela on Team of the Week bench

More wins, more honors!

MLS: Los Angeles FC at Montreal Impact Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

Following Los Angeles Football Club’s latest win at the weekend, a 5-3 wild comeback result over the Montreal Impact in Quebec, the league honors keep coming for the new boys on the block.

Laurent Ciman is nominated for MLS Goal of the Week for Week 8. His shock free kick blast to open the scoring for LAFC, against his old team, is just his fourth career goal in MLS regular season play. You can vote for the goal here, voting closes at midnight on Wednesday night. At the moment he’s in last place, so he could use the help.

On top of that, forward Carlos Vela was selected to the MLS Team of the Week once again on Monday, this time on the Team of the Week bench.

This is the fourth time Vela has been included in the Team of the Week 18 this season, his first in MLS. Vela scored the winning goal from the spot against Montreal to complete the unlikely comeback.

Congrats to the guys, and as we always say, please keep the wins coming, and the honors will continue to roll in.
