It’s finally here. After years of waiting, Los Angeles Football Club’s first home game is this weekend. Banc of California is ready to go, and it looks stunning.

These two teams met in the first game of the year, and it was LAFC’s historic 1-0 win in their first-ever game. Since then, despite LAFC being a brand new team and Seattle being the back-to-back Western Conference champions, LAFC have been the better side.

They scored four wins on their extended road trip. Meanwhile, Seattle just got their first win in league play last weekend over Minnesota United.

Still, the Sounders seem to be rounding into form. Their last result before their win was a 2-2 draw at Sporting KC, who have arguably been the best team in the Western Conference so far.

LAFC just played a totally wild game against the Montreal Impact, arguably their best win, and the most interesting game they’ve played in besides that, well the game against the team from Carson.

LAFC went down 3-1 at the end of the first half, and at that point it wouldn’t have been surprising if they were unable to get back in the game, and if it was just not their day. Instead they rallied, and put four goals past Montreal in the second half to earn that comeback win.

This will be LAFC’s first game playing against a team that they have already played.

It will be hard to see the game playing out in a similar way, not necessarily results-wise, but how the game went. After getting the early goal, the Sounders dominated possession and had most of the attacks in the game.

LAFC will probably be able to see more of the ball and get more chances in this game, especially at home.

Seattle has not shown itself to be as good defensively in years past, and LAFC have one of the league’s best attacks, which should go well for them.

On the other side of the ball, LAFC’s defense has been up and down, and has given up some goals this year that have not been great. All in all, it’s set up for a fun game, and hopefully the on the field product matches all of the off the field excitement in the home opener.

Prediction: LAFC 2, Seattle Sounders 1. Diego Rossi grabs a brace to open Banc of California Stadium in style.
