Orange County SC were out of the USL Team of the Week last week due to their bye, but they are represented once again, as defender Thomas Juel-Nielsen received a Team of the Week bench honor following OC’s 1-0 win over Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday.
Juel-Nielsen has played in five games so far this season, four starts, and has settled in pretty well for Orange County. The 27-year-old Dane, in his first season in the league, has been dividing time in central defense with Alex Crognale and Walker Hume, a rotation of starter-quality center backs that is a real luxury for OC head coach Braeden Cloutier at this point.
Juel-Nielsen is the latest Orange County SC player recognized on the Team of the Week, with the load being spread around as the team are off to a top of the Western Conference start this season, with a 5-2-1 record through eight games.
Congratulations to Thomas, and here’s hoping OC can keep the personal and team run going.
