Vote: LAFC Man of the Match vs. NYCFC

Who stood out in the cross-conference draw?

MLS: New York City FC at Los Angeles FC Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Football Club continued their unbeaten streak on Sunday, as they notched their second draw, a 2-2 stalemate against New York City FC at Banc of California Stadium.

The game means LAFC remain unbeaten at The Banc, and their overall unbeaten streak is now six games, which is pretty great to see, I think we’ll all agree.

So now, it’s your turn to decide which LAFC player stood above the pack and deserves the most individual plaudits from the game vs. NYCFC. The nominees were selected by Angels on Parade staff, as always:

Mark-Anthony Kaye: Put in another monster two-way shift, and looks like his spot is sewn up for the foreseeable future. Set up Carlos Vela’s goal — may have been inadvertent, but his touch brought the ball down for his teammate to clean up and score.

Tyler Miller: Posted five saves, including a penalty stop, and maintained his focus even with NYCFC outshooting LAFC in the box 2-to-1 on the night. You could argue he was unfortunate on both goals conceded.

Carlos Vela: Scored the only goal by an LAFC player in the match, and it was a strike worthy of three points. Unfortunately, a defensive breakdown at the other end robbed him of his full glory, but Vela grinded his way to making a difference even after being bottled up for the first hour.

Walker Zimmerman: Set up LAFC’s first goal with his header and was a monster on the defending end, with nine interceptions, six clearances (five in the box) and four recoveries.
