LAFC’s Adama Diomande named to MLS Team of the Week

First such selection for Norwegian striker.

After some time away, Los Angeles Football Club have representation on the MLS Team of the Week once more, and this time it’s a newcomer who picked up the recognition.

Forward Adama Diomande was named to the Team of the Week XI for Week 15, after scoring a brace in LAFC’s scarcely believable 4-3 win at San Jose Earthquakes. Each of Diomande’s goals were equalizers, helping to jumpstart the team to push on for a win in the end.

It was an impressive performance for the Norwegian, who has now scored three goals in his last two league games. All told, he’s got three goals in just 133 minutes in league play, and while that pace may not be sustainable in the long run, it’s showing how quickly he’s adapting to his new team and league.

Congrats to Adama, and let’s hope the goals and wins and Team of the Week honors just keep coming for LAFC.
