Costa Rica get the early game once again in the World Cup, as they kick off the Friday slate of games against Brazil at 5 am PT.
Both teams are looking hard for a win, after Costa Rica lost to Serbia 1-0 in the first Group E game and Brazil drew Switzerland 1-1. Given Brazil’s status, that is a surprise, but so far this World Cup the favorites have all been struggling in result, performance or both.
Of local note, Los Angeles Football Club forward Marco Ureña is expected to start for Costa Rica once more. Ureña and the Ticos played well at times against Serbia, and much of the roster has the experience from four years ago, when Costa Rica reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Can they get a big result against Brazil? You’ll have to make a couple pots of coffee if you want to find out.
