LAFC’s Laurent Ciman named to MLS Team of the Week, nominated for MLS Goal of the Week

Been a good week for the Captain.

It’s been a good week for Los Angeles Football Club defender Laurent Ciman. Following the heartbreaking news that he was the last cut for Belgium’s World Cup team, he returned from Europe to his club team, and scored the winning goal while helping to keep a clean sheet in LAFC’s win over Columbus Crew SC.

As a result, Ciman was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 17 for his performance:

In addition, Ciman’s goal, a free kick from way downtown, was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week. He needs your help to win it, so go vote over at MLSsoccer.com by Wednesday night.

So a goal, a win, a Team of the Week honor, a Goal of the Week nomination, and oh yeah, an MLS All-Star selection this week. There’s been no World Cup hangover for Ciman, and LAFC are the better for it.
