Los Angeles Football Club forward Marco Ureña played a full 90 minutes in Costa Rica’s 2-0 loss to England in Leeds on Thursday.

The match served as the final warm-up for both teams as they prepare for the 2018 World Cup in Russia which begins in less than a week.

England was the early aggressor as it was Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford that put the Three Lions on the board first in the 13th minute with a right-footed shot with help from Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Ureña finally got into the mix of things in the 27th minute when he fed a pass to Johan Venegas who drilled a shot into the upper-right of the goal, but the shot was pushed away England goalkeeper Jack Butland.

Both teams went back and forth to close out the first half.

In the 51st minute, Ureña took his first shot on target after Joel Campbell placed the ball at his right foot. Ureña took the shot from just outside the box, but it was pushed aside.

Danny Welbeck put the game out of reach for England with a header into the top right of goal in the 76th minute for a 2-0 lead.

Ureña attempted to put Costa Rica on the board in the 90th minute with a shot just outside the box, but his attempt went wide to the left.

Los Ticos now take the next nine days to prepare for their 2018 World Cup opener against Serbia. They will kick off at 5 am PT Sunday, June 17 at Samara Arena.
