Orange County SC are back in action on Saturday night, as they host San Antonio FC for the teams’ second meeting of the 2018 USL regular season.
OC are in a pretty good spot in the standings, in 6th place, but they are coming off their worst loss of the season and need more points to keep pace with the Western Conference contenders. San Antonio have struggled this season, but there feels to be a bit of the sleeping giant among them, something that was on full display in the teams’ earlier meeting, which OC won 3-0 in San Antonio but which only turned into a blowout in the final minutes, with most of the game played as a tense scoreless draw.
San Antonio have only won one game on the road this season, while they haven’t found a scorer to really replace Billy Forbes, who moved on in the offseason. Perhaps their most exciting player these days is Jamaican international Owayne Gordon, who has been playing well in regional competitions in recent years. He has three goals on the season.
