Los Angeles Football Club grabbed another result this weekend, a 0-0 draw at home against the Portland Timbers, and once again an LAFC player was selected to the MLS Team of the Week bench, as goalkeeper Tyler Miller made the 18 for the second week in a row.
Miller made six saves, including a massive early stop on a Diego Valeri breakaway, to preserve the shutout.
The goalkeeper, who has started every game for LAFC this season, has had a campaign with ups and downs, but lately he’s been playing well and LAFC are on a roll, going six games unbeaten in league play, seven games across all competitions.
Of course, there’s a big game coming up that doesn’t count in the Team of the Week, Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal against...you guessed it, the Portland Timbers. On the other hand, a stellar performance in that game could lead to a U.S. Open Cup player of the round award! There’s always the potential for recognition.
Congrats to Tyler, and keep up the good work.
