Los Angeles Football Club notched their biggest win since the opening weeks of the season on Saturday, beating the Philadelphia Union 4-1 at Banc of California Stadium, and their performance has resulted in recognition around the league.

Forward Adama Diomande was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 18 of the season, following his three-goal performance in the match. It was his first hat trick as an LAFC player and the team’s first-ever hat trick.

The Team of the Week honor is Diomande’s second to date, after playing five league games. In that span, he’s scored an impressive seven goals.

In addition, Diomande’s running mate, forward Latif Blessing, was named to the Team of the Week bench. Blessing tallied the game’s other goal and had two assists on the game.

Congrats to Dio and Blessing and here’s hoping such recognition continues for the black-and-gold.
