Los Angeles Football Club will play their first-ever road game in the 2018 U.S. Open Cup, when they travel to Texas to take on the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on Aug. 8 in the semifinal round.

LAFC, in the semifinals in their first season of existence, will take on the Dynamo, in the semis for the third time, with both teams seeking their first-ever final berth.

U.S. Soccer conducted the draw on Monday morning in Chicago, and in the other side of the bracket, the Philadelphia Union will host the Chicago Fire in their match, also on Aug. 8.

At the same time, the federation conducted the draw for the final, to determine the hosting priority order for the four teams still left in the tournament. LAFC are ranked third.

What this means is that if they reach the final and the Fire also do, the game will take place at the Fire’s stadium. If LAFC advance and so do the Union, the game will be hosted at Banc of California Stadium.

First things first, though. LAFC will travel back to Houston, where they were cruising in a midweek match not too long ago before the Dynamo pegged them back with two goals in stoppage time, and they will attempt to turn the page and continue their quest for silverware in their debut season.
