Well, here it is, the second round of El Trafico. People were wondering if this budding rivalry would find its place in the league, with the New York Derby, the Texas Derby, the Cali Clasico.
Did it ever in the first game, unfortunately for Los Angeles Football Club. What started off so good, a 3-0 lead for LAFC, went south in a hurry, helped by then-new LA Galaxy signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who helped turn the game to a 4-3 Galaxy win.
LAFC then followed that game by getting hammered by Atlanta United, but since then the team has done really well.
That is until last weekend, when they lost 5-1 to Minnesota United. LAFC’s defense completely collapsed, and Minnesota ran riot at home.
The Galaxy have been less consistent overall than LAFC, but they are hot lately. They are unbeaten in their last seven games, and Ibrahimovic has scored 12 goals this season.
Unfortunately for LAFC, Zlatan has not stopped scoring, and he will always be a danger man for the Galaxy, both because of his ruthless finishing, and because he is very creative, and able to assist his teammates when he draws the other teams’ attention.
Fortunately for LAFC, the Galaxy can still be vulnerable at the back. The Galaxy have won a lot of shootouts in their streak, and while that proves they can score, it also shows they give up goals.
LAFC boast one of the most potent attacks in the league, and with this game at home, look for them to go after the Galaxy’s back line early and often.
Predicition: LAFC 3, LA Galaxy 1. LAFC break the Galaxy’s unbeaten streak, keep their home undefeated streak alive, and get revenge for the earlier game against the Galaxy.
