LAFC’s Adama Diomande, Mark-Anthony Kaye named to MLS Team of the Week

Tyler Miller gets some dap, too!

Los Angeles Football Club had a busy week, picking up a road draw against the Houston Dynamo and a big win at home over Orlando City SC. That did not go unnoticed around MLS.

Two LAFC players, forward Adama Diomande and midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye, were named to the MLS Team of the Week XI for Week 19. A third player, goalkeeper Tyler Miller, made the Team of the Week bench.

Diomande earned his third Team of the Week selection since joining MLS and second in a row, after notching two assists in the 2-2 draw in Houston, and then scoring two goals in the 4-1 win over Orlando.

Kaye earned his second Team of the Week nod this season after scoring a goal against the Dynamo and tallying two assists against Orlando. The midfielder has now scored or assisted in three straight games, quite the nice surprise for a player not expected to be a big attacking force on the team.

Miller, meanwhile, got most of the plaudits for the Team of the Week bench after putting up eight saves against Orlando City. It is a season-high in saves for the goalkeeper, who posted seven on opening day against Seattle.

Congrats to the trio for the recognition, and as we always say, long may it continue.
