Vote: LAFC Man of the Match vs. Sporting KC

MLS: Sporting KC at Los Angeles FC Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Football Club lost their first game at home in their history, a tough 2-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City that was less a shellacking and more a night of grinding frustration all over.

Still, as always, we do a Man of the Match poll for LAFC games, and here’s what we’ve got for a night where the frustration was palpable, the nominees for Man of the Match as nominated by Angels on Parade staff:

  • Christian Ramirez: Came off the bench for his debut and nearly scored twice. With a bit more time, the Garden Grove native may be banging them in on a routine basis.
  • Danilo Silva: The center back was assured in his first start, and seems to have made a case that he’s ready for more starts this season.
  • Carlos Vela: When the star entered, the prospects of LAFC scoring went way up. Maybe a bit unfortunate one of their attempts didn’t go in.
