LAFC reach final of U-13 Concacaf Champions League

Could youngsters bring a continental trophy back to LA?

Good news, as Los Angeles Football Club’s academy continued their run in the 2018 U-13 Concacaf Champions League in Toluca, Mexico this week, reaching the final of the tournament on Wednesday morning.

In the quarterfinals on Sunday, LAFC advanced past MLS opposition in Toronto FC, winning in a penalty shootout, before defeating another Canadian MLS outfit, the Montreal Impact, 3-0 in the semifinal round on Monday.

In the final, they’ll take on Juniors Tampico, presumably of Tampico, Mexico. The game kicks off at 10 am PT, and the game will be available to watch on Concacaf’s website and Concacaf’s Facebook page.

If LAFC manage to win on Wednesday, they’ll become the first American team to win the tournament, in its fourth edition, with previous winners coming from Mexico (x2) and El Salvador.

Best of luck to the boys in black-and-gold!
