LAFC injury report: Danilo Silva healthy, Aaron Kovar out vs. New England

Brazilian’s presumed return should be a boost for black-and-gold.

Los Angeles Football Club released their injury report on Friday ahead of Saturday’s return to action at The Banc against the New England Revolution, and all in all, good news on that front.

Most notably, defender Danilo Silva, who suffered an injury in LAFC’s third El Trafico game against LA Galaxy last month and missed the road win over Toronto FC, has come off the injury report altogether. This guarantees nothing, but it indicates a decent shot he’ll be back in the lineup. At the same time, Bob Bradley has shown a habit of riding the hot hand, and so Dejan Jakovic, who played in the TFC win, could keep his spot. We’ll see, but at the very least, no injured defenders is better than some injured defenders, especially when there are only three true center backs on the roster.

In other news, Adama Diomande’s status is now listed as questionable, with an adductor strain, so we’ll see if he’ll try it this week or wait another game to get more healthy.

The addition to the injury report is Aaron Kovar, who is listed as having “knee irritation” and is out vs. New England. It’s not nothing, but it doesn’t sound dire, so hopefully he’s back soon.

Kovar joins long-term injured players Mark-Anthony Kaye (broken ankle) and Quillan Roberts (broken leg).
