Manchester City’s Leroy Sane leaves Germany team hotel after talks with Joachim Low

Manchester City winger and German International Leroy Sane has left Germany’s team hotel for “private reasons“ after talks with Germany manager Joachim Low, and will not be available for Germany’s match against Peru. Sane was left off of Germany’s World Cup roster this past summer. In addition, Germany midfielder Toni Kroos said earlier this week that Sane was not reaching his potential and, at times, “you have the feeling with Leroy’s body language that it’s all the same if we win or lose.” Sane also has yet to start for Manchester City in the Premier League, most recently being left out of the 18-man squad against Newcastle.

Report: Manchester United put Paul Pogba extension talks on hold

Manchester United have reportedly put contract talks for an extension with Paul Pogba on hold while the French midfielder is unsettled. United are apparently confident they can convince Pogba that his future is at Old Trafford, and had hoped to sign an extension after his successful World Cup campaign with France, but had not anticipated that Pogba would be unhappy upon his return. The midfielder, according to reports, is happy to work with manager Jose Mourinho, but has not ruled out a move away, and could be again tempted by Barcelona if they show interest again.

Former USMNT midfielder Jermaine Jones announces retirement

Former United States midfielder Jermaine Jones has called it a career, announcing retirement after 18 professional seasons. Jones earned 69 caps for the US between 2010 and 2017, scoring four goals in his time with the National Team. After the 2014 season, Jones moved to Major League Soccer, where he played for the Colorado Rapids, New England Revolution, and the LA Galaxy.
