Walker Zimmerman has withdrawn from the U.S. Men’s National Team for their upcoming Concacaf Nations League games, because of the injury he sustained in Los Angeles Football Club’s last regular season game against the Colorado Rapids.
Zimmerman suffered a concussion in the second half of LAFC’s 3-1 win over the Rapids, clashing heads with Kei Kamara before slamming into the turf face-first.
Zimmerman has been a mainstay of the U.S. team since Gregg Berhalter took over, but needs time to recover so that hopefully he will be healthy for LAFC’s playoff run.
Atlanta United defender Miles Robinson took Zimmerman’s vacated spot on this U.S. roster.
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Feeling okay So happy to be a part of this @lafc family and a part of history. #72 #history @ Banc of California Stadium https://t.co/pkOqLXoIIg

Zimmerman put out a post his social media indicating that he was feeling okay, but beyond that, there have not been many updates so far from him or the club about the status of his injury.
Thankfully he has some extra time to get healthy as LAFC have that first round playoff bye.
Here’s hoping Zimmerman is recovered and fully healthy soon.
