Orange County SC announced on Tuesday they have re-signed defender Michael Orozco to a multi-year contract extension.
Orozco, 33, joined OCSC during the 2019 season and made 18 appearances for the orange and black, scoring three goals and lifting the team to rally and reach the 2019 USL Championship playoffs.
The veteran former USMNT international brought a solidity and composure to Orange County’s backline and seemed to relish the ability to mentor the club’s young players while continuing his own career.
“I couldn’t be happier that Michael has agreed to his new deal. He had a huge impact both on the field & in the locker room the second half of the season for us,” Orange County head coach Braeden Cloutier told Angels on Parade following the announcement.
“Signing Michael to a long term deal clearly indicates our commitment to have a team that year after year competes for a USL Cup. On top of that he is a prefect role model for our young players as he represent Orange County on all aspects on and off the field,” said general manager Oliver Wyss to Angels on Parade.
Orozco’s re-signing is the first move announced by Orange County SC for the 2020 season. Look forward to seeing more moves made and announced over the coming weeks and months.
