Again, we have a guess. Who was LAFC’s Most Valuable Player?

MLS: MLS Cup Conference Semifinals-LA Galaxy at Los Angeles FC Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

As we continue in the MLS offseason, and look back at Los Angeles Football Club’s 2019, it’s time to take a look at who was the Most Valuable Player for the Black-and-Gold. There are some very good candidates for the award this season, after LAFC seemingly broke all the records they could find in 2019.

Here are your LAFC 2019 Team MVP Candidates:

Carlos Vela

An obvious name to come forward for Team MVP, as Carlos Vela took home the 2019 MLS MVP award, after scoring 34 goals and notching 15 assists in 31 games. Vela broke Josef Martinez’s scoring record in a single season of 31, and broke Sebastian Giovinco’s record for combined goals and assists. He also took home Angels on Parade’s 2019 Attacker of the Year award.

Diego Rossi

LAFC’s young Designated Player earns himself a spot in our MVP shortlist after scoring 16 goals and adding seven assists in 2019. He also was named #1 in MLS’ 22 Under 22 list for 2019, highlighted as the best young player in the league.

Tyler Miller

LAFC’s 2019 starting goalkeeper earned a spot on this list, having played 28 games for LAFC. The former Expansion Draft pick made 72 saves this season, allowing just 28 goals and keeping nine shutouts.

Walker Zimmerman

He may not have won our Defender of the Year poll, but LAFC’s standout center-back did make the MLS Best XI, being the rock in the center of LAFC’s defense that allowed a league-low 37 goals.

Eduard Atuesta

Atuesta, another MLS Best XI member for 2019, showed yet again why he is one of the crucial pieces of the LAFC puzzle. He made 11 assists in the season, and is just 22 years old.

Mark-Anthony Kaye

The young Canadian made his return from injury, much to the delight of Black-and-Gold supporters everywhere, and did not disappoint. Another key cog to LAFC’s midfield, Kay scored four goals and made eight assists in 2019.

Eddie Segura

The only LAFC newcomer on this list, Segura partnered with Zimmerman to form the best tandem in the League, and anchored the line in the games Zimmerman missed. He also played the most minutes out of anyone on LAFC’s roster, a stat that gets crazier the more you think about it.
