Orange County SC squared off against MLS side Toronto FC on Friday in preseason action, and while the proceedings were closed door with few details emerging, the teams finished with a 1-1 draw.

The only highlight of the game that has emerged came right before the final whistle, as Orange County tied up the game at the death off a set piece, scored by an unnamed trialist.

Per the Orange and Black SoccerCast’s website, 9 of the 11 starters in the match were returning players or announced signings for Orange County, in addition to Jerry van Wolfgang (ne Ewijk), who has been training with the team this preseason after spending the 2018 season with Reno 1868. The second-half unit apparently featured several familiar faces, but more newcomers in the mix.

The big takeaway from the game, perhaps, was that teenage goalkeeper Aaron Cervantes started the match, and apparently held his own. After not making a competitive appearance for the first team in his first pro season last year, it looks like Cervantes could be in line for minutes this season, which kicks off on March 9 at Reno. OCSC are next in preseason action on Tuesday, when they host a squad from Club Tijuana.
